According to the weather forecast, Highs will be in the mid 80’s this weekend. The surface temp of the water is still about 75 degrees. The largemouth bass and Catfish are still biting. Those fishing from kayaks, float tubes, and canoes are having the best luck targeting the north shore.

The Largemouth Bass are fat and healthy and the bite is improving daily. Anglers are targeting main lake points and the north shore. Shoreline anglers have been hiking farther down the shore because of low water levels in the marina area. Fishing the backside of the peninsula  is still hot spot! Most are throwing plastics, jigs, and nightcrawlers.

The Crappie bite has been slow, with no reported catches this week. Anglers are trying their luck near the dam and north shore. Most are using nightcrawlers, red worms, meal worms, and small crappie jigs. You will have the best luck off boat or non-motorized vessel.

The Catfish bite continues to be consistent!  Most anglers are using mackerel, nightcrawlers, and chicken livers. Anglers have had the best luck on the back side of the peninsula and to the left of the launch ramp!

We have nightcrawlers and mackerel available for purchase!!!

Remember, we are no longer catch and release only and all anglers 16 years and older are required to have  a California state fishing license. All department of Fish and Wildlife regulations apply.

Stop by the Ranger Office to weigh your fish and tell us how you did!

Launch Ramp update: Due to the low water levels,  Pleasure boats, and most fishing boats are no longer able to launch. Kayaks, canoes, float tubes, and very small aluminum boats are able to launch.(electric trolling motors okay) Please contact the lakeside office for more info.
